General Summary of Position The Director of Nursing Research serves in a joint role with MedStar Georgetown University Hospital (MGUH) and Georgetown University School of Nursing (GUSON). This position includes an academic appointment in the GUSON with 50% dedicated effort to academic responsibilities associated with that appointment. Non-tenure track academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications. The Incumbent leads the development of a Nursing Research Program that supports the mission, vision, and goals of both institutions as they collaborate to further Nursing practice through the development and dissemination of new knowledge. Position Objective: Provide services as a Researcher in support of the overall functions of the TB Imaging Program (TBIP), Division of Intramural Research (DIR) within the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). Duties and Responsibilities: Monitor and recover anesthetized NHPs and rabbits for procedures, including PET/CT scans. Perform blood draws, catheter placement, intubation, injections, BALs, and other technical needs in NHPs and rabbits. Process bloods and tissues according to specific needs of multiple experiments.
