Elijah Tooling is the products company spawned by Nissi Industrial Technologies, at that time a nine year old firm that specialized in multi-axis NC programming. The old saying that "Necessity is the mother of invention" certainly applied in the history of the Invert-A-Bolt™ fastener. The Nissi Industrial Technologies Numerical Control Programmers sought to use a back-bolt in their programming, but could find no interest from their small to medium sized customers, due to the difficulty of developing the process to create a back-bolt. The Invert-A-Bolt™ fastener was conceived out of the desire to purchase and use an off-the-shelf backbolt, however, none was available in the market. With this impetus, work was begun on a design. The pervasive desire on the part of the designers was not only to produce an off-the-shelf back-bolt, but to multiply its benefits by "building in" additional qualities that would make it superior to the venerable back bolt. The Invert-A-Bolt™ fastener was born out of this effort. Shortly after designing and prototyping the first Invert-A-Bolt™ fastener Elijah Tooling, Inc. applied for and obtained its first patent. Since that humble beginning whole systems of workholding have been developed around this unique fastener with accompanying patents or patents pending. We continue to improve and expand our product offerings as well as focusing on the development of better and more efficient ways to hold and locate during manufacture.
