The Fall River Police Department is one of the most innovative law enforcement agencies in the world. This is an exciting time for the Fall River Police Department's Uniform Patrol Division. Our goals continue to be to make Fall River a safer city to live, work, visit, and recreate. To accomplish this, the Fall River Police Department develops, cultivates, and enters into long-term partnerships with the citizens and businesses of the city. Once these partnerships have been created the Fall River Police Department is committed to listen to the citizens we serve. We encourage them to tell us how they want their neighborhoods policed, and not the other way around. A mutual objective is to not only reduce crime, but also more importantly reduce the fear of crime . The Uniform Patrol Division accomplished these two goals by deploying motor patrol officers into the community twenty-four hours a day seven days a week. The division generally deploys seventeen patrol cars during each of the three watches. The motor patrol officers are supplemented by between two and ten foot patrols per day between the hours of 8 AM and 12 Midnight. These foot patrols are deployed by need, after examining crime data, to neighborhoods, city parks and playgrounds. These city police officers are highly motivated and well trained. They serve this community in a robust invigorated fashion and are always willing to stop and listen to you, the community they have sworn to serve. The Uniform Division is the largest division of the Fall River Police Department. They are the first on the scene to all emergencies and criminal acts that take place within the city of Fall River. Uniform Division officers respond to literally thousands of calls for service per year; these men and women have a saying that can often be heard around the station house: "you'll never be bored." The Uniform Patrol Division is the home of some of the finest and bravest people on the planet, and I am very proud to be their commanding officer.
