The Music Teacher implements the daily instructional plans of the classroom teacher in an effective manner. The School Teacher maintains a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth and establishes effective rapport with pupils while maintaining proper classroom management. POSITION SUMMARY LearningWorks Afterschool (LWAS) serves academically low-performing PK-5th students in 11 elementary schools in Southern Maine. We are currently filling positions in Biddeford, Portland & Saco. Students participate in hands-on challenges that embed literacy, math, and social emotional learning to build key skills for school success: academic confidence, taking initiative, problem-solving, communication, and perseverance. Eligible students are identified collaboratively by LWAS Directors, Site Coordinators, and school staff. LWAS is funded primarily through 21st Century Community Learning Center grants, and is offered in partnership with local school departments.
