Founded in 1973, Helpline has served the communities of Walla Walla County with emergency social services for over thirty years. Helpline assists indigent and working-poor individuals and families on an emergency basis with food, clothing, prescriptions, transportation, utilities, short-term shelter, homeless prevention rental assistance, infant-care needs and referrals for crisis advocacy and counseling. In addition to serving as an emergency food bank for needy families, Helpline provides screening and voucher referral for food services at three other area food banks. Helpline coordinates with a wide varieties of social services to ensure needs are met without duplication of services.
