The Hideaway is quite rich in history! From 1934 to 1965, a bar/restaurant was started on the location by Duke and Ida Atlas, who raised two sons there, Herbert and Charles. At the beginning of WW2, Herb and Charles sold oversized ham sandwiches on Saturdays, down at the train station, to the newly-inducted soldiers.
