K Bank was founded in June of 1961 under the name of Key Federal Savings and Loan Association. The bank started out as a traditional thrift, making home loans and paying attractive rates on savings accounts. At that time, the bank consisted of one office located at 8601 Liberty Road in Randallstown, MD. This first branch opened its doors on July 1, 1961. The lobby hours were almost the same as they are today. As the bank grew, it went through many changes. In 1969, the bank went on-line with NCR for the deposit side data support. In 1979, administrative offices opened on Old Court Road. A second branch was opened in Millersville in 1975 and was later relocated to its current site on Jumpers Hole Road in Pasadena. The third branch was opened in 1978 on Belair Road in Perry Hall. By 1981, after years of continuous growth, a fourth branch was opened on Baltimore National Pike (Route 40) in Ellicott City. In 1986, the name was changed to Key Federal Savings Bank, and administrative offices were moved to Owings Mills. In 1991, the Commercial Lending Division was established. Just three years later, K Bank earned its SBA (Small Business Administration) Certified Lender designation from the Small Business Administration, and subsequently was awarded its Preferred Lender status. K Bank continues to hold the distinction of "Preferred Lender" status with the SBA in the Baltimore and Washington, DC metro areas. Since 1996, K Bank has been named as one of the top SBA Lenders in the Baltimore region. As well, over the last decade, our lenders have achieved recognition by the SBA, having earned the "Financial Services Advocate of the Year" and "Veteran Small Business Advocate of the Year." Continuing to grow successfully, in 1996, we opened additional branches in Bel Air and Eldersburg. Before the end of that year, we changed our charter from a savings and loan to a state commercial bank and became Key Bank and Trust. In October of 1998, the seventh branch was opened on York Road in Cockeysville. In March of 2001, we added ...

  1. Advertising: Advertising is a marketing communication that employs an openly sponsored, non-personal message to promote or sell a product, service or idea.:465 Sponsors of advertising are typically businesses wishing to promote their products or services. Advertising is differentiated from public relations in that an advertiser pays for and has control over the message. It differs from personal selling in that the message is non-personal, i.e., not directed to a particular individual.:661,672 Advertising is communicated through various mass media, including traditional media such as newspapers, magazines, television, radio, outdoor advertising or direct mail; and new media such as search results, blogs, social media, websites or text messages. The actual presentation of the message in a medium is referred to as an advertisement, or "ad" or advert for short. Commercial ads often seek to generate increased consumption of their products or services through "branding", which associates a product name or image with certain qualities in the minds of consumers. On the other hand, ads that intend to elicit an immediate sale are known as direct-response advertising. Non-commercial entities that advertise more than consumer products or services include political parties, interest groups, religious organizations and governmental agencies. Non-profit organizations may use free modes of persuasion, such as a public service announcement. Advertising may also help to reassure employees or shareholders that a company is viable or successful.

  4. Presentation: Presentation conveys information from a speaker to an audience. Presentations are typically demonstrations, introduction, lecture, or speech meant to inform, persuade, inspire, motivate, build goodwill, or present a new idea/product.
  5. Prospecting: Prospecting is the first stage of the geological analysis (second – exploration) of a territory. It is the physical search for minerals, fossils, precious metals or mineral specimens, and is also known as fossicking. Prospecting is a small-scale form of mineral exploration which is an organised, large scale effort undertaken by commercial mineral companies to find commercially viable ore deposits. Prospecting is physical labour, involving traversing (traditionally on foot or on horseback), panning, sifting and outcrop investigation, looking for signs of mineralisation. In some areas a prospector must also make claims, meaning they must erect posts with the appropriate placards on all four corners of a desired land they wish to prospect and register this claim before they may take samples. In other areas publicly held lands are open to prospecting without staking a mining claim.
