Under the leadership of Pastor Jack Little, the church grew from a small Bible study to a group of about 300 college students and young families, meeting in a variety of locations in SLO. When Pastor Jack moved on to plant churches nationally, Pastor Bob Craine led the church from 1983-1995. In July 1995, College and Children's Pastor Thom O'Leary took over as senior pastor. The church learned in July 1997 that San Luis Jr. High would no longer be available to use for its services. In search of a permanent home, the church entered into escrow in 1999 for 63 acres on Calle Joaquin, and the plans were completed in January 2001. Two years later, the church celebrated 25 years of service in the community and changed its name to Mountainbrook Community Church. In 2004, Mountainbrook received unanimous approval from the SLO Planning Commission to build a church campus. In the next couple of years the church finalized building plans, obtained permits, and moved to their new facility on 63 acres in November of 2008. OUR MISSION:
