North Central Public Health District is the Only Three-County Local Health Department in Oregon. We strive so that one day all people will live in a safe environment free from fear of preventable diseases; that all businesses, organizations and individuals will have access to health information and have the desire to promote and be responsible for a healthy lifestyle for themselves and each other. To prevent disease, injury, and disability; to promote health and well being; and to protect our communities by preparing for and responding to public health threats. The Board serves as the public health authority for public health services in Wasco, Sherman and Gilliam Counties. The Board will approve an estimate of the cost of maintaining the Health District for the ensuing fiscal year. The Board also advises the Director and requests information from the Director as the Board deems necessary, adopts resolutions and rules, not inconsistent with or less strict than any public health law or rule of the Oregon Health Authority, for the protection and preservation of public health and keeps minutes of all meetings of the Board.
