The Tax Specialist is a hybrid opportunity based in Kennesaw, GA. As the Tax Specialist, you will support in ensuring compliance with US and Canadian sales tax regulations. Your daily tasks include assisting in the preparation and review of Sales & Use and Canadian GST/QST returns, maintaining and updating Vertex tax software, and managing customer and vendor exemption certificates. You will prepare journal entries for accrued indirect taxes and assist with corresponding filings, reconcile indirect tax accounts, and maintain accurate account balances in the general ledger. Collaboration with the Indirect Tax Audit Manager to implement updates based on audit findings is essential. Additionally, you will assist with state and local tax examinations, file for refunds when necessary, and provide input on the tax implications of business activities. You will support the improvement of tax technology usage, partner with internal teams, and manage relationships with external consulting firms.
