The Oregon Network for Compassionate Communication (ORNCC) is a regional non-profit association of people who envision a world in which all people's needs are being honored and met compassionately. We are committed to living and teaching the process of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), which strengthens the ability of people to connect compassionately with themselves and one another, to share resources, to resolve conflicts peacefully, and to contribute to social change that is in harmony with NVC consciousness. ORNCC offers regional support for the Center for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC), a global organization whose vision we share. ORNCC's mission is to support the spread of NVC in Oregon and Southern Washington by coordinating information regarding NVC trainings, workshops and practice groups; making NVC educational materials available for sale; and by supporting projects that use NVC to help develop harmonious and effective relationships in this region. In this way, we contribute to our vision by helping to create life-serving systems within ourselves, interpersonally and within organizations, including schools, and work places. From 2008 until 2011, ORNCC sponsored the Oregon Prison Project (OPP), helping to bring NVC training to inmates in several prisons in Oregon. ORNCC is not currently sponsoring this program.
