Security Sergeants are responsible for the supervising of daily operations during a particular shift. Security Sergeants follow set schedules and create assignments as needed. They review work and evaluate the performance of subordinate personnel, providing feedback, counseling, and discipline as needed within the guidance of the Operations Commander. In addition, Security Sergeants are responsible for the scheduling, reviewing submitted incident reports, training officers, and actively communicating needs with security administration. The position also requires minor physical exertion (push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25 pounds) and sustain the ability to stand and/or walk for lengthy periods of time without rest or assistance.
