When Comunidad de Amigos first opened in 1975, its goal was to serve as a welcoming agency to migrant Hispanic farm workers and assist with job training, job placement, education and transitioning families into the community. In the late 1980's, Comunidad De Amigos, Inc underwent a name change and became Partners for Community Development, Inc. in addition, Partners had broadened its services in response to the need for an increase in housing assistance, including the creation of two low to moderate-income housing developments and providing weatherization services to qualified homeowners. Today, Partners for Community Development, Inc. focuses on social services programs and providing the best service to the community in home remodeling, housing rehabilitation, home buying assistance and residential energy conservation.
