P.I. Art Center focuses on art education for college preparation. PI was founded in 1986 under the name of Phil Art Studio in New Jersey. It opened its New York city campus in 2005. By 2009, P.I. Art Center became an institution authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students. Today, P.I. Art Center is a SEVIS-approved, non-degree granting, private, proprietary, prep school dedicated to educating students who both want to attain the necessary fundamental art skills and basic knowledge to discover their creative and artistic abilities and ultimately will be pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts by providing foundation art courses. The P.I. program (Core/BSA/Advanced) is designed to transform every student, even those students with no or limited previous art experience, to become highly trained, disciplined, and well-prepared students for American higher education. As a result of P.I. program, many international students have been accepted to and attend a prestigious American art institution. CORE curriculum is designed for students with no or limited previous art experience, and it will allow them to be exposed to various forms of visual arts. Through 5 different concentrations, or genres, (Fine Art, Digital Media, Photography, Architecture, and Fashion), students will discover their true interest and artistic talent in a specific art field. They can then pursue their BFA degree in their selected field. Through this curriculum, students will attain the necessary fundamental art skills and basic knowledge to discover their creativity and artistic abilities as they work in a wide range of two-and three dimensional art media. By training to close the competency gap and be better prepared for American schools, we are building a strong pool of highly qualified students to American Art schools.
