PUCC provides a free summer Christian camping experience for local boys and girls in Brighton, MI. The Plymouth United Church of Christ has a history of providing camping experiences for boys and girls that began in the time of one of its early minister's, the Rev. Horace White. For the past ten years, the Youth Camp Ministry has attempted to provide the highest level of an overnight camping experience for a diverse mix of 40 -80 inner city and middle class youth from broad social and economic backgrounds. Jeff, a former collegiate level tennis player at Northwestern University, who is also the Deputy County Executive for Wayne County, leads the physical exercise portion of the camp. Church members and others volunteer to make the Camp experience special. Lois has established a leadership system for counselors for high school and middle school youth. The Plymouth United Church of Christ Summer Camp for Boys and Girls is making a difference in the lives of a lot of youth.
