This Senior Piping Design Engineer will be designing piping diagrams and designs in 3D and 2D AutoCad and will be designing specs of piping systems and ensuring they are NAVSEA compliant in Navis, ShipConstructor, and AutoCad. Designs will be passed to Senior 3D Checker will ensure drawings meet Navy Specs and will be approved for the build process. The ideal candidate will have a background in the maritime shipbuilding industry and has designed piping systems as a prime on a Navy contract The hourly rate for this role is between $42-$48hr. Daily Responsibilities & Overview: Produce, edit, and modify 3D technical drawings and plans supporting product design that detail components, dimensions, and assembly of various company products. Use CAD software to effectively collaborate with engineers and understand design specifications as well as revise drawings based on feedback and requested product changes. Facilitate effective communication to ensure all teams are aligned on productions schedules, specifications, and requirements. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action planning for any quality issue that may arise. Qualifications: Minimum of HS Diploma with 5+ years' 3D modeling experience; prefer Technical Certification(s) if not Associate's or Bachelor's Degree. An understanding of mechanical design of parts, components, equipment and/or systems. Basic understanding of Hydraulic & Electrical schematics and components. They will be doing more of the modeling and the 3-D work They will be creating models and drawings of ship structures They will also take on some of the responsibilities of a Tech 1 drafter (re above).
