RPM Electric is a company based in the Seattle area whose focus is the distribution of efficient dc powered data center technologies. We recognize that there is a fundamental change occurring in the newer data center designs. These designs are moving towards dc power and air blown fiber optic solutions. Legacy data centers were built on an "as needed" basis to support a company's objectives. Companies are now looking for alternative ways to meet their computing demands and reducing operational costs by moving away from building and maintaining corporate data centers. Current movement is toward cloud computing and SaaS (Software as a Service) services. The new design of data centers are being built with distributive processing capabilities and an emphasis on power efficiency and component connectivity. With the world wide push towards eco-friendly solutions, new standards are being developed promoting the use of dc power. Supported by internationally known groups such as the E-merge Alliance and the Darnell group, this will not only reduce overall data center costs, but will contribute to a smaller ecological foot print on the environment. The new generation data centers are utilizing these more efficient designs. Using dc power, these new designs can operate up to 20% more efficient then using comparative ac solutions. Parallel to this, fiber optic technology is also growing and changing. As technology continues to grow, more content is being delivered over the internet, the current copper infrastructure is not able to meet these demands. Increasing demands for more powerful data centers has expedited the maturity of fiber optic technology. We recognize that new data centers will be built on dc power and connected with air blown fiber optics. We are positioning ourselves to be a leader in distributing dc and fiber components to build and service these new age data centers.
