Sanders Nursery is one of Oklahomas largest and most respected nurseries, building upon the traditions of superior quality, fair pricing and great service established by its founders. In February 1999, Northeast Oklahoma nurseryman Bob Berry bought the original 50-year-old Sanders retail-wholesale business based in Inola, Oklahoma, from the Sam Sanders family. Berry had begun his career around 1957 while attending Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, where he graduated in 1961, and started the Tri-B Nursery just west of Hulbert, OK. In 2000, Berry and friends bought the 80 acres in Broken Arrow, now the home of Sanders Nursery, from farmer George Stunkard, the nurserys chief operations manager. Since then, the Broken Arrow and Inola nurseries have served the public and the wholesale markets together as the Sanders Nursery. **Inola location has been closed Our nurseries feature retractable roofs, automated watering systems, 24 sliding doors for vehicles loading and unloading, 600-foot aisles designed for trucks and carts as well as people, and inventory accessible instantly at strategically placed computer kiosks. We serve a multi-state area, shipping thousands of fresh products weekly to nurseries in surrounding states, but our primary focus is the customers who walk through our doors every day. We are delighted to serve our consumers and wholesalers with the best prices and highest quality products. The Sanders Team understands the needs of our customers and it is our goal to always provide the expansive variety and selection of top quality trees, plants and flowers for you. We want to help you garden like a pro, so we work hard to expand our selection and our ability to provide you with great resources and products.

What Skills Does a person Need at Sanders Nursery?

At Sanders Nursery, specify the abilities and skills that a person needs in order to carry out the specified job duties. Each competency has five to ten behavioral assertions that can be observed, each with a corresponding performance level (from one to five) that is required for a particular job.

  1. Customer Service: Customer service is the provision of service to customers before, during and after a purchase. The perception of success of such interactions is dependent on employees "who can adjust themselves to the personality of the guest". Customer service concerns the priority an organization assigns to customer service relative to components such as product innovation and pricing. In this sense, an organization that values good customer service may spend more money in training employees than the average organization or may proactively interview customers for feedback. From the point of view of an overall sales process engineering effort, customer service plays an important role in an organization's ability to generate income and revenue. From that perspective, customer service should be included as part of an overall approach to systematic improvement. One good customer service experience can change the entire perception a customer holds towards the organization.
  2. Leadership: Knowledge of and ability to employ effective strategies that motivate and guide other members within our business to achieve optimum results.
  3. Coaching: Coaching is a form of development in which an experienced person, called a coach, supports a learner or client in achieving a specific personal or professional goal by providing training and guidance.
  4. Merchandising: In the broadest sense, merchandising is any practice which contributes to the sale of products to a retail consumer. At a retail in-store level, merchandising refers to the variety of products available for sale and the display of those products in such a way that it stimulates interest and entices customers to make a purchase. In the profession of merchandising you are either employed by the store in which you work, or by an independent distributor. As a professional merchandiser, in a retail setting, you will not only know your products(I.e. coffee, juice, soda, etc.) but you will gauge other “vendors” like products as you tend to your job. Working with the store and other merchandisers, shelf space is often given or taken as need be in some locations(for some young merchandisers this is known as “war”) In retail commerce, visual display merchandising means merchandise sales using product design, selection, packaging, pricing, and display that stimulates consumers to spend more. This includes disciplines and discounting, physical presentation of products and displays, and the decisions about which products should be presented to which customers at what time.
  5. CVS: Concurrent Versions System (CVS) is a program that lets a code developer save and retrieve different development versions of source code.
