SNOCOM, a consolidated emergency public safety dispatch agency was created in 1971 by its founding entities: the cities of Brier, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, and Woodway, as well as Snohomish County Fire Protection District #1 and the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office. SNOCOM was one of the first consolidated Police/Fire/EMS dispatch centers of its type in Washington. On September 11, 1973 SNOCOM began providing 911 services to the citizens of Southwest Snohomish County, giving dispatchers additional information about the caller's location, which results in enhanced dispatch accuracy and response time. In 2001 the agency celebrated its 30th anniversary by moving into a modern new facility to better serve the community and accommodate added technology needed to perform its mission. Proud of the service provided to our citizens, SNOCOM is equally proud of its relationship with those user agencies they are in partnership with. This unique partnership is the foundation of SNOCOM's support and success. Through the years SNOCOM employees have, and will continue to provide, excellent customer service in a thorough and professional manner.
