My name is Samrat Yadav and I am a third-year Management Information Systems student at SJSU. For my first two years, I was a full-time software engineering student and decided to switch over to MIS while completing a minor in Comp Sci side by side in the beginning of my third year. I have been working with the SJSU FSAE business team for this past semester as we have found a solution and developed a presentation to our prompt of "cutting down 90% R&D costs due to an economic turndown." We have used data analytics strategies on Excel along with cost-cutting techniques with the help of our Chief Engineer to come with this solution. Due to the COVID-19, we are working on this presentation via zoom, but I plan on working with FSAE next semester too with hopes of the SJSU campus opening up again! The Powertrain sub-team is responsible for the design, manufacture, and testing of all the engine related systems on the vehicle. These systems include the engine and transmission, differential and final drive, cooling , electrical, intake, pneumatic shifting, and the calibration of these systems. Some of the disciplines covered through the design process are CAD/CAM, engine simulation, Intake/exhaust CFD, circuit design, drivetrain simulation, and extensive engine and drivetrain tuning. The purpose of the exhaust system is to remove the waste gas out of the engine through a series of pipes. For performance in a naturally aspirated engine, exhaust must be tuned with the intake system to scavenge gases at a certain point in the RPM range in order to pull in more fresh air, increasing the power output. An issue we encountered was welding the exhaust. Exhaust material used was titanium. Titanium is very sensitive and reactive material, so it has to be properly prepped prior to welding and the welder has to have enough practice with the material in order to get proper welds. Another issue was midpipe placement. The chassis had a design change that we had to account for, so midpipe design had to change. With this chassis ...

What Skills Does a person Need at Spartan Racing?

At Spartan Racing, specify the abilities and skills that a person needs in order to carry out the specified job duties. Each competency has five to ten behavioral assertions that can be observed, each with a corresponding performance level (from one to five) that is required for a particular job.

  1. Customer Service: Customer service is the provision of service to customers before, during and after a purchase. The perception of success of such interactions is dependent on employees "who can adjust themselves to the personality of the guest". Customer service concerns the priority an organization assigns to customer service relative to components such as product innovation and pricing. In this sense, an organization that values good customer service may spend more money in training employees than the average organization or may proactively interview customers for feedback. From the point of view of an overall sales process engineering effort, customer service plays an important role in an organization's ability to generate income and revenue. From that perspective, customer service should be included as part of an overall approach to systematic improvement. One good customer service experience can change the entire perception a customer holds towards the organization.
  2. Merchandising: In the broadest sense, merchandising is any practice which contributes to the sale of products to a retail consumer. At a retail in-store level, merchandising refers to the variety of products available for sale and the display of those products in such a way that it stimulates interest and entices customers to make a purchase. In the profession of merchandising you are either employed by the store in which you work, or by an independent distributor. As a professional merchandiser, in a retail setting, you will not only know your products(I.e. coffee, juice, soda, etc.) but you will gauge other “vendors” like products as you tend to your job. Working with the store and other merchandisers, shelf space is often given or taken as need be in some locations(for some young merchandisers this is known as “war”) In retail commerce, visual display merchandising means merchandise sales using product design, selection, packaging, pricing, and display that stimulates consumers to spend more. This includes disciplines and discounting, physical presentation of products and displays, and the decisions about which products should be presented to which customers at what time.
  3. Commitment: An agreement or pledge to do something in the future a commitment to improve conditions at the prison especially : an engagement to assume a financial obligation at a future date.
  4. product knowledge: Product knowledge is the ability to communicate information and answer questions about a product or service. It is considered an important knowledge area for any role that puts you in front of customers, investors or the media.
  5. Presentation: Presentation conveys information from a speaker to an audience. Presentations are typically demonstrations, introduction, lecture, or speech meant to inform, persuade, inspire, motivate, build goodwill, or present a new idea/product.
