?The Denver Fire Department is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides fire and rescue protection to the northeastern section of Lincoln County, NC. We are a combination fire department with both paid and volunteer members. Our paid staff consists of both full-time and part-time employees. We operate out of three (3) stations that are strategically located throughout our district. In addition to these stations, we also have an unmanned base that houses our Fire Boat for lake responses. ??Our funding is provided through a fire protection tax assessment on the properties within our jurisdiction. Our current tax assessment rate is 11.25 cents per $100 valuation and we currently serve approximately $1.8 billion of property value. Our fire protection jurisdiction is 32.64 square miles and features 36 linear miles of shoreline on Lake Norman. The population within our district is approximately 11,000 people, which is around 339 people per square mile.
