In 1999 KCCU again made many changes to the station's technical operation. KCCU had to replace the entire Audio-Vault automation systems with a new Y2K system. The system includes new computers for Altus and Ardmore. These computers allow KCCU to have separate underwriting and public service announcements in Lawton, Altus and Ardmore. Each community now has a public radio station that provides programming unique to that community. KCCU made a major technological jump in 1999 when the station uplinked its programming via satellite. KCCU was faced with the need to find a new method to deliver our signal when the Oklahoma Regents decided to decommission a 25 year-old microwave system KCCU had been utilizing to deliver the signal to Altus and Ardmore. The least expensive and most effective method to do this turned out to be a satellite channel. KCCU now utilizes the satellite system to deliver the signal to Altus, Ardmore, Wichita Falls and Western Oklahoma. KCCU has continued to receive strong financial support from listeners, foundations and businesses. Individual donations have increased from $36,344 in 1992-1993 to $85,651 in 2002. The foundation support for KCCU has grown from around $11,000 a year in 1992-1993 to $23,800 per year in 2002. The business support for KCCU has increased from $27,155 in 1992-1993 to $65,000 in 2002. The financial support from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting has grown from $12,500 in 1989 to $151,000 in 2002.

  3. Photography: Photography is the art, application and practice of creating durable images by recording light or other electromagnetic radiation, either electronically by means of an image sensor, or chemically by means of a light-sensitive material such as photographic film. It is employed in many fields of science, manufacturing (e.g., photolithography), and business, as well as its more direct uses for art, film and video production, recreational purposes, hobby, and mass communication. Typically, a lens is used to focus the light reflected or emitted from objects into a real image on the light-sensitive surface inside a camera during a timed exposure. With an electronic image sensor, this produces an electrical charge at each pixel, which is electronically processed and stored in a digital image file for subsequent display or processing. The result with photographic emulsion is an invisible latent image, which is later chemically "developed" into a visible image, either negative or positive depending on the purpose of the photographic material and the method of processing. A negative image on film is traditionally used to photographically create a positive image on a paper base, known as a print, either by using an enlarger or by contact printing.

In some cases, authors may be their own publishers, meaning originators and developers of content also provide media to deliver and display their content. Also, the word "publisher" can refer both to an individual who leads a publishing company or an imprint and to an individual who owns/heads a magazine. Traditionally, the term refers to the distribution of printed works, such as books (the "book trade") and newspapers. With the advent of digital information systems and the Internet, the scope of publishing has expanded to include electronic resources such as the electronic versions of books and periodicals, as well as micropublishing, websites, blogs, video game publishers, and the like. Publishing includes the following stages of development: acquisition, copy editing, production, printing (and its electronic equivalents), marketing, and distribution.
