The Plant Manager is a landscape and garden design firm that also offers installation services and continuing maintenance of those projects. We serve both residential and commercial clients in the northwest suburban Chicago area. We are here to provide you with quality products, exceptional landscape services and a landscape to enjoy for years to come. The Plant Manager was begun in 2002 by Kathy Uszler. She began the business after many years of hobby gardening and after completing the course to become a University of Illinois Extension Service Master Gardener. In addition to offering her design service, she supervises the installation and maintenance of her finished designs. With her background as a Master Gardener she knows the proper way and the correct time to prune, trim, and cut back for optimum health and beauty of the plants. She is always available to answer questions about pest and disease management and sends out a monthly e-mail newsletter guiding you on the proper time to perform regular garden maintenance so that you can care for your plants on your own. Many years of experimentation with her own garden has taught Kathy about the plants that do well in northern Illinois. She can advise you on the best selections for a beautiful and healthy landscape utilizing ornamental and shade trees, flowering shrubs, perennials, and annual flowers. The Plant Manager staff is a dedicated team of hard workers who aim to please. Each member of the staff works carefully to ensure accurate planting and proper maintenance. From design to installation to protecting your landscape investment with our quality landscape management programs, we want your experience to be exciting and gratifying. All of our nursery stock comes from McKay Nursery located in Waterloo, Wisconsin. McKay grows over 550 types of top quality plant material on 1,800 acres and has been in business since 1897.
