The University of Michigan Dance Marathon (UMDM) is one of the largest student-run non-profit organizations on the University of Michigan's campus. Conducting events throughout the year, UMDM strives to raise both monetary support and awareness for the needs of pediatric rehabilitation programs. The creative and interactive therapies we provide through the allocation of funds to C.S. Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan enrich the lives of children in our community. Our year-round efforts culminate in March when hundreds of students stand on their feet for thirty hours to show their dedication to our cause: the hospitals and families we support and our mission to raise awareness for pediatric rehabilitation. During the Marathon, dancers are challenged mentally and physically, gaining perspective of the even greater challenges and obstacles facing the children we support. What Skills Does a person Need at Umdm?

At Umdm, specify the abilities and skills that a person needs in order to carry out the specified job duties. Each competency has five to ten behavioral assertions that can be observed, each with a corresponding performance level (from one to five) that is required for a particular job.

  1. Plumbing: Plumbing is any system that conveys fluids for a wide range of applications. Plumbing uses pipes, valves, plumbing fixtures, tanks, and other apparatuses to convey fluids. Heating and cooling (HVAC), waste removal, and potable water delivery are among the most common uses for plumbing, but it is not limited to these applications. The word derives from the Latin for lead, plumbum, as the first effective pipes used in the Roman era were lead pipes. In the developed world, plumbing infrastructure is critical to public health and sanitation. Boilermakers and pipefitters are not plumbers although they work with piping as part of their trade and their work can include some plumbing.
  2. Customer Service: Customer service is the provision of service to customers before, during and after a purchase. The perception of success of such interactions is dependent on employees "who can adjust themselves to the personality of the guest". Customer service concerns the priority an organization assigns to customer service relative to components such as product innovation and pricing. In this sense, an organization that values good customer service may spend more money in training employees than the average organization or may proactively interview customers for feedback. From the point of view of an overall sales process engineering effort, customer service plays an important role in an organization's ability to generate income and revenue. From that perspective, customer service should be included as part of an overall approach to systematic improvement. One good customer service experience can change the entire perception a customer holds towards the organization.
  3. Installation: The action or process of installing someone or something, or of being installed. the act of installing the state of being installed, something that is installed for use.
  4. HVAC: Designing, developing, maintaining, and updating Heating, Ventilation, Air-conditioning and Cooling system.
  5. background check: A background check or background investigation is a review of a potential employee's criminal, commercial and financial records. The goal of background checks is to ensure the safety and security of the employees in the organisation
