The United Lubavitcher Yeshiva was established over one hundred years ago in the city of Lubavitch, by the fifth Lubavitcher Rebbe, the Rebbe Rasha"b. The Rebbe organized a select group of Talmidim (students) to sit and study a mix of Nigleh and Nistar of Torah (revealed and hidden portions). On the 18th day of Elul the students began under the tutelage of the Rebbe's son R' Yosef Yitzchok (who in turn became his successor). On Simchas Torah during Hakafos, whilst reciting the Pesukim before the Hakafos the Rebbe said the students should be referred to as Temimim and the Yeshiva be called Tomchei Temimim. The students were given the task of being "Neiros Lehoir" (illuminating lights) wherever they go. To date one can find our alumni throughout the world filling positions as rabbis, educators, and spreading the light of Torah. More than thirty years ago, the ground was broken in Brooklyn, on Ocean Parkway between aves. H& I. Our campus housed boys from all different walks of life, from pre-school, through High school. Over 700 students packed our building! Another branch of our elementary was opened in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, as has our high school. Currently we have approximately 300 students, in our Gan and elementary.
