Worthington Country Club was established in 1991, and after outstanding real estate sales, turned over to the members in 1994. The club continued to expand and improve its facilities as member usage increased. In 2002, a surface water control system was added along with a major renovation of the golf course by architect Chip Powell. In years 2006 thru 2008, the Golf Course Maintenance Complex was expanded and renovated. In 2007, the club embarked on a major Master Plan for Facility Improvement. The plan included the following phases: Phase 1: A new resort-style geo-thermal heated and cooled swimming pool surrounded by a new Fitness and Activity Center and outdoor dining Cabana; and expanded Golf Practice Area and Cart Staging Area.
