YWCA Duluths Girl Power! program is an after school, lunch, and summer day camp program dedicated to cultivating future leaders. YWCA Duluth is a partner of Girls Inc. at YWCA Minneapolis . Summer Camp is an eight week day camp for girls in the Twin Ports area, age 8-14. Engaging activities around leadership, STEM, outdoor education, healthy choices, economic literacy, post-secondary options, and more. Girl Power! Camp expands girls idea of what is possible while helping to reduce summer learning loss. One of the highlights of Camp each year is the one-week Sustainable Polymers: Plastics of the Future curriculum. This is an inquiry-based science curriculum focusing on the following concepts: materials; plastics; reduce, reuse, recycle; and the work of scientists and engineers. The curriculum is designed to build foundational skills of science and engineering: observation, asking questions, sorting and classifying, and communicating.
