Requirements and Responsibilities

Diversity Supervisor supervises the administration of programs that promote employee and vendor diversity. Oversees a team of diversity specialists that ensure compliance with internal polices and external diversity regulations. Being a Diversity Supervisor leads the team in establishing knowledge and adoption of diversity and inclusion topics and best practices, and in ensuring the organization employs strategies to attract, develop, and retain members of underrepresented groups. Maintains documentation of initiatives' status and effectiveness by ensuring staff compile statistics, metrics, and reports. Additionally, Diversity Supervisor may be responsible for leading diversity training. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Diversity Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Diversity Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
