Paints structures, drywall and plaster, performs masonry work, and repairs plumbing fixtures and woodwork. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician I makes repairs to tools and equipment. Maintains and installs electrical systems and fixtures. Additionally, Facility Maintenance Technician I measures, cuts, bonds, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit. Uses hand and power tools. Ensures tools and equipment are maintained and repaired. Assists higher-level technicians. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervior or manager. The Facility Maintenance Technician I works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. May require 0-1 year of general work experience.
