Requirements and Responsibilities

Field Service Engineer V installs, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains products/equipment. Identifies, analyzes, and repairs product failures, install new components or parts. Being a Field Service Engineer V develops creative solutions to more unique, chronic, or complex issues. Answers difficult customer questions about product features, recommends appropriate upgrades. Additionally, Field Service Engineer V performs start up testing and customer training on features and general maintenance of product. May mentor less experienced engineers and verify work. Has extensive knowledge of the organization's products and services and is considered an expert. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Field Service Engineer V works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. Works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in solution or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. To be a Field Service Engineer V typically requires 10+ years of related experience.
