Legal Secretary I performs secretarial and administrative duties for an attorney or group of attorneys. Prepares legal documents, contracts, briefs, motions, summonses, complaints and general correspondence. Being a Legal Secretary I maintains files and schedules. Requires knowledge of legal terminology and standard formats and procedures. Additionally, Legal Secretary I requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Legal Secretary I works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. May require 0-1 year of general work experience.
