Requirements and Responsibilities

Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor oversees the planning and design of manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, and machining processes for a production facility. Liaises with engineering and other manufacturing departments to ensure collaboration and alignment of workflow. Being a Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor is responsible for the research and development of equipment to aid in the manufacturing process. Oversees and coordinates equipment selection and tooling design. Additionally, Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor reviews, evaluates, and implements engineering changes and specification requirements. Trains and mentors staff on new and existing manufacturing processes and machinery. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.
