Merchandiser works within a retail environment to effectively merchandise products by applying appropriate store-wide and/or corporate-wide standards. Works closely with store sales staff with regard to shelf maintenance and trains staff on appropriate merchandising standards. Being a Merchandiser often responsible for promotional signage. May oversee one store or a group of area stores. Additionally, Merchandiser may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Merchandiser gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. To be a Merchandiser typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience.
