Assoc. Professor - Liberal Arts teaches courses in the discipline area of liberal arts. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Assoc. Professor - Liberal Arts provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Assoc. Professor - Liberal Arts typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. NYSSSA is hiring residential life counselors for the NYSSSA In-Residency Arts programs taking place at SUNY Fredonia. The 2024 summer programs offered are Visual Arts, Media Arts, and Theatre.

About NYSSSA:
Established in 1970, the New York State Summer School of the Arts Program has trained over 20,000 students since its inception. The In-Residency NYSSSA Program offers an immersive summer experience for high school artists. The 3-week summer program will take place at SUNY Fredonia and delivers robust pre-professional training, personalized coaching, and leadership development to qualified students across the state.
In this intensive program, students immerse themselves in their chosen artistic discipline, dedicating up to 14 hours a day for 6-7 days a week. The teaching staff is comprised of accomplished professional artists, companies, college professors, and teachers who impart their skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm to the future artistic talent of New York's high schools.
