Business Intelligence Director directs a business intelligence group centered on providing insight and aiding in business decision-making. Oversees the planning of projects to produce reports and perform meaningful quantitative or qualitative analyses addressing impactful business issues or questions. Being a Business Intelligence Director collaborates with other departments to identify and generate potential business intelligence initiatives, and ensures that business intelligence analysts have the tools, training, and understanding of the field to produce effective dashboards, reports, and metrics. Makes resource allocation and staffing decisions. Additionally, Business Intelligence Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Business Intelligence Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Business Intelligence Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     About The Role
     

    FTI Consulting is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Director to join its Business Intelligence team in São Paulo, Brazil. The Business Intelligence team conducts corporate investigations, uncovers actionable business intelligence, supports clients in commercial disputes, and provides clear analysis to help decision-makers address and mitigate risk, protect assets, and maximize opportunities in a variety of jurisdictions worldwide. Its expertise lies in investigative due diligence, asset tracing, fraud and anti-corruption investigations, litigation support, whistle-blower allegations, third-party integrity screening, political risk assessments and other bespoke engagements. 

    The successful candidate will be a seasoned and analytically minded researcher with excellent writing skills and a strong work ethic. They must have experience working in a commercial environment. They will be a self-starter who takes initiative in their approach to work and a team player who is able to easily engage with senior management, junior analysts, and clients. A skilled communicator, they will be able to convey complex ideas clearly and nimbly articulate their findings to internal and external audiences. They must exhibit an inquisitive mindset and the ability to think laterally about complex problems. You will get the opportunity to establish a career in the business intelligence industry. 

    As a Director in the Business Intelligence team, you will have the opportunity to work on cross-segment projects with other teams within Forensic and Litigation Consulting, such as Forensic Accounting Advisory Services, Financial Services, and Data and Analytics, as well as other practices within FTI Consulting, such as Strategic Communications, Economic and Financial Consulting, and Technology. 


    What You’ll Do
     

    A Director will lead a range of complex and multi-jurisdictional projects, including investigative due diligence, asset traces, fraud investigations and geopolitical risk assessments, from both a research and project management standpoint.   

    Directors are expected to support and coordinate the output of senior and junior analysts, as well as conduct independent, first-class research and analysis, drawing upon the range of search engines and databases generally available, and those available to the company, while working on multiple assignments simultaneously.  

     Key responsibilities will include: 

    • Utilize advanced knowledge and logical reasoning skills to provide complete client services.  
    • Work to ensure a quality product, as well as deliver all work within established timeframes.  
    • Prepare reports, presentations and other deliverables for third parties, setting out findings and/or results of the agreed scope of work.  
    • Interact directly with clients, lawyers and senior personnel.  
    • Track progress of cases and monitor workflow of different matters.  
    • Contribute to identifying and developing resources useful for investigative research.
    • Contribute to management of the Business Intelligence practice through active involvement in practice development activities.
    • Undertake business development activities and develop professional network.

    What You Will Need

    Basic Qualifications 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Law, Economics, Business, International Affairs, or similar. 
    • 7 years of post-graduate, professional experience in intelligence, investigations, or related industry. 
    • Proficiency in writing and verbal communications skills in Portuguese and English (an additional language such as Spanish is desirable). 

    Preferred Qualifications 

    • Proven research and analytical skills and a flair for investigative interventions, including a desire to recover information, identify facts and uncover the truth behind complex and opaque situations. 
    • Knowledge and interest in current affairs relating to several relevant subject areas such as politics, international business and security. 
    • Dynamic mindset and ability to work autonomously without direct supervision.
