Overview

The Cafe Manager at Wim is responsible for guaranteeing a consistently great experience for all guests, as well as a smooth and highly functional workplace for employees. The manager is expected to be a strong and resourceful leader at all times, representing the needs of the business as directed and creating a healthy environment while doing so. An ideal candidate for this role is an extroverted self-starter who has a passion for creating a top-tier hospitality experience. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with many different people across different stations and departments to reach a common goal. This position reports to the Director of Retail of ReAnimator Coffee. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Work with Yowie and Yowie Hotel leadership to create a high-level, cohesive, and consistent customer experience for all customers of Wim
• Collaborate with ownership to create resilient, advanced systems for all Wim operations, and play lead role in daily implementation 
• Lead the cafe and kitchen staff by designating which role each employee is expected to fulfill each day, and act as on-site point person for each employee on shift
• Schedule all cafe employees of FOH and BOH using When I Work app, with schedules routinely posted two weeks out
• Understand and execute the vision for cafe and food service as communicated by leadership via menus and trainings
• Communicate prep lists and daily pars to staff to ensure a well-stocked, proactive operation that is capable of high volume service
• Possess ability to solve day-to-day issues with minimal intervention or oversight (including staff callouts, equipment and facilities issues, ingredient shortages, etc)
• Hold purchasing duties for all supplies and maintain excellent organizational systems that are up to all applicable health department standards
• Be able to fill in for any call out to ensure uninterrupted service each day
• Curate a great vibe in the shop at all times by ensuring that all aspects of the environment are dialed in according to standards
• Participate in hiring, firing, and discipline
• Meet with ownership on a regular basis to establish goals and track performance

Requirements:

• Early morning availability
• Weekend availability (both weekend days preferred, one consistent weekend day a necessity)
• Ability to lift 30lbs unassisted and up to 100lbs assisted
