Credit and Collections Supervisor is responsible for the activities and operations in the credit and collections department. Oversees the processing and verification of applications for credit and the solicitation for payment on overdue accounts. Being a Credit and Collections Supervisor investigates credit issues and suggests payment options to be approved. Ensures collectors follow all protocols, laws and regulations to collect payments efficiently. Additionally, Credit and Collections Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Credit and Collections Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.   • The Credit & Collections Representative position will work closely with the sales department to ensure timely set up of accounts and release of pending orders. The credit representative will gather credit information for the establishment of accounts within a set number of days, including checking references. The credit representative will call on past dues accounts, make notations on accounts, provide requested documentation on past due invoices, collect or reconcile disputes and/or discrepancies and establish working relationships with the accounts payable department of all assigned customer accounts. Other daily duties include, but are not limited to A/R processing of electronic payments for checks and credit card, and account maintenance within multiple systems.
    Ideal candidate will have business to business collection experience and strong attention to detail. Multi-tasking and a sense of urgency is essential in this position. A basic understanding of general ledger accounts is needed. The ability to analyze credit history and assess risk within a limited amount of time is important.
    Credit & Collections Qualifications:
    • 2-year accounting or related degree.
    • 3 years’ experience in the business-to-business collections arena
    • Ability to work with a high sense of urgency and take personal initiative.
    • Strong customer service background
    • Excellent problem solving, verbal, written communication and people skills are required.
    • Must have the ability to prioritize workload while ensuring all tasks are completed.
    • Must have interpersonal skills to interface with both internal and external customers.
    • Intermediate Excel and computer skills.

    Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    Working on special projects as assigned by the Credit Manager.
