Position Title: Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator

Location: San Jose, California (CA)

Our Global Clients Americas Division is currently looking for an EHS Officer to join our team located at our client facility in San Jose, CA. In this role, you will report to the EHS Sr. Manager and will require OSHA safety knowledge and employee relations skills. Reporting to the Senior Manager Global Environment Health & Safety (EHS), this position requires both technical knowledge and employee relations skills to coordinate the deliverables for the client’s global EHS. Deliverables include coordination of various global training programs, Emergency Response Team (ERT) volunteers, Safety Specialist Contractors, Ergonomic Program, Metrics and presentation material as well as supporting Global Safety and Security Managers. 

Duties:

• Meeting with the management team to define EHS goals and objectives.
• Training employees on health and safety policies and best practices.
• Conducting inspections and identifying hazards and EHS violations.
• Providing solutions and intervention strategies for hygiene, health, and safety hazards.
• Implementing new health and safety protocols and measures to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Monitoring operational processes and employee activities.
• Generating assessment documentation, incident and accident reports, and health and safety manuals.
• Reporting to management, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.
• Preparing and submitting health and safety compliance documents to the relevant organizations.
• Keeping abreast of the latest EHS trends, policies, regulations, and best practices.

Position Qualifications:

• Considerable knowledge of safety principles and practices.
• Ability to identify and recognize unsafe conditions or work practices.
• Ability to organize and conduct effective training and education programs.
• Ability to plan and organize work to achieve desired results.
• Ability to be available (on-call) after normal working hours.
• Ability to work independently and display creativity, exercise sound judgment, demonstrate initiative, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
• Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to senior management and appointed department heads and employees.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use a computer. Good knowledge of PC operations and (MS Office, Databases, and InDesign) is required.
• Needs to have the ability to multitask and coordinate several projects at once.

Education/Experience:

• At least 18 years of age 
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental health or Equivalent Experience.
• Needs to be a qualified Ergonomist.
• Needs to be First Aid, CPR, and AED certified, as well as a certified trainer for these courses.
• Minimum 3-5 years of safety and ergonomics experience required.
