    Cypress Healthcare Partners is a physician practice management company that provides management services, including HR support, to over 1,000 employees of 15 companies in over 35 worksite locations, primarily in Monterey County. The Director of Human Resources will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy. The Director is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, and identifying and implementing long-range strategic talent management goals.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
    • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains management-level HR staff.
    • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
    • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

    • Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
    • Collaborates with executive leadership to define the organization’s long-term mission and goals; identifies ways to support this mission through talent management.
    • Provides guidance and leadership to the human resource management team; assists with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues.
    • Lead all compensation initiatives, in particular the strategy and execution of job leveling, salary surveys, conducting an overarching compensation analysis and updating compensation structure for all positions.
    • Oversee HRIS and payroll systems and ensures necessary reports are generated and created for critical analyses of the HR function and the people resources of the organization.
    • Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
    • Identify, develop and implement innovative HR projects and additional training programs in order to improve employee engagement, leverage employee strengths and build on any identified weaknesses.
    • Identifies key performance indicators for the organization’s human resource and talent management functions; assesses the organization’s success and market competitiveness based on these metrics.
    • Researches, develops, and implements competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Thorough knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local legislation relating to Human Resources.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
    • Ability to execute a project plan, managing to deadlines and high attention to details.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledge of and experience with varied HRIS systems, ADP Workforce Now and ADP Workforce Manager preferred.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

    CREDENTIALS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s or law degree highly preferred.
    • At least 10 years of human resource management experience required, with strategic, talent management, and/or business development experience highly preferred.
    • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR strongly preferred.
    • Prior experience working in healthcare preferred.
    • Proven ability to lead and manage an HR team; minimum 3-4 years.
    • Proven ability to remain objective, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment and common sense at all times.
