Work Schedule: 12 months
Location: Onsite and Remote Office
Position Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Outreach and Development the marketing manager will plan, direct, and coordinate marketing efforts and programs for the schools in order to advance the organization’s external marketing strategy and implementation. Through monitoring trends that drive new products and services, the marketing manager will design creative, visually appealing tools and resources that assist in school-wide communication, marketing and branding efforts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing
Designs and creates compelling and brand-aligned marketing materials (print and digital) for school, including banners, flyers, mailers, social media graphics and content, videos, photos
Develops and manages the schools’ social media communications strategy across platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Twitter)
Develops and composes various publications, including news releases, feature articles, news stories, postings, reports and other communications which highlight the goals, objectives, policies, programs, activities and accomplishments of the school, its students and staff
Advances the social media strategy to reach new audiences
Builds awareness and excitement of school events and accomplishments
Formulates or coordinates marketing activities to promote school enrollment, events and services
Tracks data and results related to schools’ marketing efforts and provides regular reports to senior leaders
Plans for advertising at conventions, conferences, school events and job fairs
Assists in the development and implements a student recruitment campaign
Assists human resources in developing a teacher recruitment campaign
Attends and takes photos at school events for immediate use on social media/online, as well as in future marketing collateral
Manages the development, maintains, and expands the Schools’ website
Communications
Supports in responding to requests for information from the media, potential parents, and others
Develops communication about school programs to maintain favorable public or education partners’ perceptions of the schools’ accomplishments and agenda
Writes communications for the schools’ website
Writes press releases or other media communications to promote the school
Assists school leadership with communication efforts to staff, families and the community
Research
Researches marketing or advertising opportunities in various geographic areas
Evaluates the best method for reaching audience
Other Duties
Responds to non-urgent communication within 24 school hours and urgent communication within two school hours
Documents and refers to the school’s management all formal disciplinary actions involving students; supporting management with addressing and resolving complaints from students and parents in a timely manner; ensuring compliance with the provisions of California Penal Code Section 11166 (Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act)
Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE

Experience & Education:
Minimum of two years experience in a marketing/communications role or equivalent
Experience in education, preferable in independent study model highly desirable
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or similar field required; Master’s preferred
Other Qualifications:
State and federal fingerprint clearance (LiveScan) to work with students (Ed. Code 44237). No prospective employee can report to work without this clearance being received and the Human Resources Manager notifying the immediate supervisor of this clearance.
Proof of a clear TB Tine test or signed Certificate of Completion dated within the last 60 days (Ed. Code 49406) upon employment and thereafter updated every four years
Hold and maintain a valid California Driver’s License, proof of automobile insurance, and full time use of a dependable automobile that is insured pursuant to California regulations.
Knowledge:
Computer and technology literacy:
Operate office equipment including a calculator, copier, fax machine, computer and assigned software
Google docs, Google spreadsheets and other online collaboration tools to send and receive information
Basic arithmetic calculations
Knowledge of marketing and brand best practices, including marketing campaign development and execution
Familiarity with content management processes and systems, as well as hands-on experience posting to popular social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Twitter)
Experience identifying relevant tracking metrics for sustained measurement of impact and evaluation of short-term marketing experiments
