Security Director implements overall security strategy, policies, and standards to ensure the physical safety of all visitors, employees, or customers to the organization's facilities and the security of property and assets. Conducts regular audits and inspections to assess, identify, and mitigate any security vulnerabilities or gaps. Being a Security Director implements staff training and operational plans for crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events. Manages and maintains systems, alarms, and other physical security measures. Additionally, Security Director delivers education programs and communications on security policies and topics to ensure staff is adequately informed and equipped to manage potential security issues. Participates in local, state, provincial, or federal working or advisory groups to keep abreast with all security-related information, directives, and events. Leads and directs significant investigations and critical event responses in coordination with law enforcement and other officials or agencies. Possess a broad knowledge of law enforcement methods, tactics, and procedures. Requires a bachelor's degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, security, or related discipline. Typically reports to senior management. The Security Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum has an opening for a full-time exempt Director of Security in the Operations Department.
Company Overview: Located in the heart of downtown Nashville, the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum documents and interprets the history of country music—a musical genre and culture central to the identity of the city, the state, and the nation. Accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, the museum proudly combines subject expertise, ambitious research, and preservation of an unparalleled collection with expressions of creativity in music, art, and history. The museum collects artifacts that illustrate the evolving history and traditions of country music while providing diverse learning opportunities. The core exhibit follows the story of country music from its folk beginnings through its emergence as a commercial art form. Rotating exhibits examine a broad range of topics, from country classics to ultra-contemporary and emerging artists in American Currents. The museum owns Hatch Show Print, a letterpress print shop opened in 1879, and it operates Historic RCA Studio B, where Elvis Presley and many others recorded.

Job Overview:
This is a full-time exempt position which supervises all security officers. Position maintains and enforces security policies and procedures, while providing security of the buildings, artifacts, and other company assets. Responsible for a safe working environment for staff and visitors during all hours and all events. The properties which security must oversee include our primary museum location as well as Historic RCA Studio B and a warehouse. Position oversees and has daily interaction with third-party security companies, which provide security personnel. Position monitors, observes, and reports daily activities throughout the building and all locations. This position reports to the Senior Director of Facilities, Operations and Sustainability. This position and the security team must maintain professionalism, composure and confidentiality while working in a high-profile environment. Interactions with VIPs, dignitaries and artists will be part of the routine responsibilities.
