Workers' Compensation Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing a company's workers' compensation program. Implements all matters of the program, including claim investigations, settlements, and litigation. Being a Workers' Compensation Manager establishes standards and procedures for all matters relating to workers' compensation. Responsible for finding an insurance provider that meets organizational goals of employee coverage and cost effectiveness. Additionally, Workers' Compensation Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of unit/department. The Workers' Compensation Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Workers' Compensation Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Legal Assistant - Workers Compensation

    Responsibilities include, but not limited to: 
    • Preparing opening forms and contacting clients
    • Sorting and disbursing incoming mail and faxes
    • Calendaring important deadlines and scheduling client appointments
    • Requesting medical records and bills
    • Sending collections/bills to carrier letters
    • Setting up and sending letters of representation for subrogation 
    • Requesting and reviewing lien itemizations
    • Preparing medical exhibits for case managers
    • Requesting payment ledgers
    • Updating information and labeling documents in Needles Neos and spreadsheets
    • Other administrative tasks as assigned by case managers/attorney 
    Required Qualifications:
    • Positive demeanor as a team player 
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Effective time management and attention to detail 
    • Proficient with MS Office products
    • A desire to work in a law firm setting 
    • Organizational and communication skills are necessary for this position 
    • Must be able to prioritize tasks with demanding deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
    Desired Qualifications: 
    • An Associate's degree or some college is preferred
    • 1-2 years of prior experience in a workers' compensation law firm or equivalent
    Compensation: 
    • Expectation is $15 - $18 hourly
