Account Management Manager manages and develops sales plans for a team of account managers. Focuses on the long-term planning and selling of a variety of products, services, and/or solutions across multiple lines of business for a defined group of existing clients. This position is responsible for optimizing MBS sales and customer satisfaction by counseling assigned accounts on their effective use of MBS programs and services, including SimpleSource, publisher consignment rental, and First Day Complete. This position develops relationships with the assigned accounts and partners across MBS and BNED departments to support sales goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Optimizes sales and purchases by counseling assigned accounts to effectively use MBS products and services, including SimpleSource. Provides extensive and consultative communication with customers and develops relationships across the MBS and BNED organization. Is a customer advocate and works with MBS stakeholders to capture MBS product and service enhancement opportunities.
· Supports territory management in assuring partnership agreement commitments and benefits are met. Prepares, distributes, and discusses sales, purchases, rentals, and returns (SPRR) reports with assigned accounts and territory management. Partners with MBS stakeholders to develop and adapt customer performance reporting, focusing on what is valuable and timely. Resolves assigned account SPRR issues by working across MBS departments. Participates in periodic business reviews with assigned accounts and field management.
· Leads distribution partner programs, such as publisher consignment rental (PCR), promotion and communication for customers, and field management. Processes monthly PCR spreadsheets and resolves upload errors (daily). Contacts assigned accounts on required monthly reporting and other contractual requirements. Partners with territory management to follow up and secure required reports. Works with MBS and BNED stakeholders to gather and reconcile reports, resolve errors, inform customers, and support program invoicing and shrink evaluations.
· Keeps apprised of industry issues. Keeps informed of new MBS products, services, and other general information of interest to customers.
· Maintains and reviews customer demographics, communications, insights, events, and other relevant customer information within CRM.
· Actively participates in company projects and initiatives as assigned (examples: managing House assigned accounts, MBS non-returnable/10% discount program). Collaborates across MBS and BNED departments to support strategic initiatives, such as SimpleSource and First Day Complete. Supports First Day Complete by working with assigned customers to provide order status and related program information. Partners with MBS and BNED stakeholders to resolve issues and adapt and improve programs and initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelors degree in business, related discipline, or relevant work experience; customer account management a plus
· Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with all organization levels; ability to present information one-on-one and in small group settings
· Possesses high attention to detail and a sense of urgency; is innovative, ambitious, curious, independent, and a critical thinker
· Demonstrated problem-solving ability (both as an individual contributor and team member)
· Prioritizes activities and works on multiple assignments simultaneously; ability to work independently and follow through on tasks and goals
· Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
