Pharmacy Sales and Account Manager

  • Under the general direction of the Director of Marketing & Account Management, promotes and markets group purchasing and professional support services to existing and new independent pharmacy accounts located throughout Eastern KY, Eastern TN, and WV.
    Must travel within marketing area to conduct site visits (1-2 overnights per week). Sales/marketing experience preferred and pharmacy background a plus. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft office and Teams.

    Must be located in eastern region of KY for this position.

    Duties:

    • Service existing accounts and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing and potential accounts.
    • Develop business and personal relationships with key decision makers.
    • Work with supervisor to develop an understanding of independent pharmacy business model and operations.
    • Work with supervisor and vendor to develop an understanding of pharmaceutical wholesale business and related operations.
    • Resolve complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendations to management.
    • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, and delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
    • Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competition.
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional activities.
    • Keep management informed by submitting activity and result reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans and monthly and annual territory analysis.
    • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
    • Perform related duties as assigned.
    • Must be willing to work extended hours, when necessary, to meet marketing objectives.
    • Must be willing to travel extensively within marketing area to conduct site visits (1-2 overnights per week)

    Job Type: Full-time
    Salary: $45,000.00 -$55,000.00 per year
