Accountant maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Being an Accountant compiles financial data to aid more senior accountants in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Assists in analyzing current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Additionally, Accountant typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Accountant work is closely managed. This position assists the Finance Department in the overall operations of the Finance Department functions; this includes accounting, budgeting, recording, reporting of financial transactions, and account reconciliations. This position works under the general direction of the Assistant Finance Director. The ideal candidate would have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field. An ideal candidate would be able to perform detailed work accurately and independently, communicate detailed and sensitive information effectively and confidentially, and possess the organization and time management skills to prioritize duties with a high volume of work that constantly changes in priority.
