Accounting Clerk performs routine accounting activities such as data entry, maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports. Reviews, codes, and verifies transactions including billings, invoices, checks, and journal entries. Being an Accounting Clerk assists in completing moderately complex calculations using spreadsheets and other software tools. Reconciles accounts and bank statements. Additionally, Accounting Clerk has a basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Accounting Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Responsibilities
Job Purpose
The Accounting Clerk role is focused on assisting the Accounting/Finance Team with the overall fiscal management of Greenleaf Hospitality Group properties.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Greenleaf Hospitality Group Cashier Duties:
- Managing Petty Cash
- Managing Housebank
- Reconciling deposits match actual
- Managing intercompany transfers and exchanges
- Recording cash journal entries
- ATM Cash Management
- Reverse ATM Maintenance
- Manage company credit card program
- Assist AR & AP staff members where needed
- Assist with intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliations
- Assist with daily revenue reporting
- Support accounting team with month-end closing processes
- Support accounting team with Square, Silverware, Opera, and Etix inputs and maintenance
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
What You Need for this Position
- You have strong attention to detail and accuracy, commitment to customer service
- You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, are very organized and detail-oriented, thrive on process improvement
- Ability to manage and meet deadlines
- Ability to multi-task and work together as an integral part of the team
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Google Suite; experience with Jonas software system a plus
- Emphasis on confidentiality
- Customer service skills
- Able to lift 25lbs. occasionally
