Accounts Payable Clerk supports the day-to-day operational activities of an accounts payable department. Reviews purchase orders, statements, and invoices to verify amounts owed. Being an Accounts Payable Clerk records and processes payments for vendor invoices in accordance with internal accounting policies and oversees payment schedules. Maintains and reconciles accounts payable ledger to validate charges and ensure accurate and timely payments. Additionally, Accounts Payable Clerk responds to vendor inquiries and assists with the research of any discrepancies in billings and payments. May utilize accounting software and systems to manage invoices and payments. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Accounts Payable Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and assisting with month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of corporate accounting principles and possess excellent attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable invoices and ensure accurate coding and approval
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies
- Prepare and process weekly check runs
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records
- Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- 2 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting role
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
