Title: Accounts Payable Manager 

Status: Full-time 

Hours: 40/week, Monday - Friday, 9am-6pm 

Location: Bloomington, IN, or Brooklyn, NY

Reports to: Financial Controller 

Company Summary: SG Services, Inc. provides accounting services, legal services, IT support, tech support and human resource support to the Secretly affiliated companies. These companies include Secretly Group, Secretly Distribution, Ghostly International and The Numero Group. 

Position Summary: We are looking for an organized Accounts Payable Manager to provide strong leadership of our accounts payable department and to ensure the department runs smoothly. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will support the maintenance and ongoing improvement of a fine-tuned and functioning payables process that pays vendors and affiliated partners on a timely and accurate basis. 
 
The AP Manager’s responsibilities will be to deliver outstanding service to the departments and entities that we serve by upholding a strong work ethic coupled with the ability to understand what to prioritize. 
 
The successful candidate will possess prior payables experience, excellent excel capabilities, outstanding customer service acumen and a solid foundation of accounting knowledge. 

Responsibilities:  

Core Accounts Payable: 

• Review and ensure AP subledgers are clean and reconciled monthly 
• Ensure that new vendors are set up properly, including W-9 processing  
• Manage daily flow of incoming vendor invoices for multiple companies in conjunction with AP team 
• Review coding of invoices and payments, ensuring they are correctly entered into the accounting system 
• Supervise the weekly payment processing of transactions primarily via ACH 
• Monitoring account bank balances and checks presented for payment 
• Respond to vendor inquiries as applicable 
• Participate in special projects, system enhancements or ad hoc analyses as assigned, which may include annual 1099 processing or monthly credit card expense management
  

Management:

• Setting and facilitating the achievement of departmental objectives 

• Training, motivating, and evaluating accounts payable staff 
• Building and maintaining relationships with employees, vendors, and affiliates 
• Developing, implementing, improving, and enforcing policies and department controls to increase accuracy and efficiency 

The Ideal Candidate Demonstrates: 

• Advanced proficiency in Excel is required (pivot tables, macros, VLOOKUP's)  
• Be Adept with large data sets  
• Proven interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills 
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high accuracy rate  
• Trusted individual with impeccable ethical standards and profile 
• Proven ability to succeed in a fast paced and dynamic environment 
• Some accounting coursework or prior experience preferred 
• Prior experience in distribution or music industry a plus 
• Several years of experience in accounts payable, with a progression into a managerial role is preferred 
• Experience within a large organization a plus
