Accounts Payable/Receivable Analyst jobs in Lorain, OH

PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Accounts Payable Specialist supports the Accounting Supervisor with all accounting functions, procedures, and audits. This person assists with bookkeeping functions, such as preparing invoices, data entry, accounts payable process, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, cash management, and other clerical activities.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Associate Degree in accounting, business, or finance is preferred.

SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 2 years of accounting experience preferred, ideally in a non-profit, health care organization.
• Knowledge Accounting Software preferred.
• Strong computer skills with proficiencies in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to independently coordinate multiple tasks.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
• Ability to work independently or as a team member.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Maintain all records related to bank statements.
• Complete daily deposits.
• Maintain petty cash, monthly administrative reconciliations, and quarterly site reconciliations.
• Monitor payments.
• Record bank activity using the accounting software.
• Conduct weekly bank reconciliations.
• Interaction with banking institutions and vendors.
• Assist Accounting Supervisor with annual inventory as needed.
• Process reimbursement expenses for all employees.
• Process, record, and pay invoices for vendors.
• Process and record other transactions using proper general ledger accounts and classifications.
• Reconcile accounts payable ledger accounts to ensure payments and records are correct.
• Prepare, and process accounts receivable invoices, when needed, records these transactions accordingly, and post payments.
• Assist in month- end closing, including data entry in preparation of financial reporting to the Board.
• Must maintain strict confidentiality regarding knowledge of payroll, organization finances and other proprietary information.
• Must maintain accurate records.
