    Aviation 15G - Army Aircraft Structural Repairers

    Job Description:

    As an Aircraft Structural Repairer, you'll make sure Army airplanes and helicopters are safe and ready to fly by performing maintenance and repair. Using your training as a welder, you'll create new parts out of metal and fiberglass, while improving testing, safety, and technical procedures.

    Army Aircraft Structural Repairers (MOS 15G) provide maintenance on aircraft structures. They rely on drawings, blueprints, manuals, and directives to make ordered repairs. Aircraft Structural Repairers may alter windows and enclosures or fabricate interiors with metal-forming techniques and fiberglass. MOS 15G might also balance fixed-wing aircraft controls or apply a finish coat of paint to the exterior of the structure.

    Additionally, Army MOS 15G Repairers maintain facilities for storage and handling hazardous materials.

    Qualifications and Training: 
    • To enter into this Army MOS, individuals will be required to receive a score of 104 on the Mechanical Maintenance (MM) portion of the ASVAB.
    • When all required testing and entrance examinations have been completed, recruits will attend 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training.
    • Recruits/Applicants wishing to go into the position will be required to attend 15 weeks of Advanced Individual Training at Fort Eustis Virginia.
    • This training provides on-the-job instruction with both classroom and field training.
    Skills that are helpful in this position:
    • Ability to work with both hand and power tools.
    • Desire to work in a career that involves aircraft and engine mechanics.
    • Preference for a job that uses both mathematics and shop mechanics.
    Requirements:
    • Must be a US citizen or I-551 cardholder.
    • Must be between the age of 17-34.
    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Must pass a criminal background check with no open law violations.
    • Must pass a drug screen.
    • No felony.
    • Must currently be in good health with no physical limitations.
    Compensation:
    • Total compensation includes housing, medical, food, special pay, and vacation time.
    Earn Cash For In Demand Jobs:
    • You could earn up to $40,000 in cash bonuses just for enlisting under certain Military Occupational Specialties.
